MEDIA TRAINING

After interviewing hundreds of subjects, from Academy Award winners to artists, from CEOs to musicians, I know that creative work takes inspiration, grit, and fearless self-exploration — and after all that, you gotta talk about it? Don’t panic. I can help.

WHY ME

I’m the former West Coast editor of Elle and contributor at Harper’s Bazaar, and my work has appeared in InStyle, Glamour, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment Weekly, People, Vanity Fair, Los Angeles magazine, Cosmopolitan and many others.

When it comes to media training, I draw on my extensive journalism experience to help clients tell their stories, whether it’s for an interview with a legacy media brand, a live appearance, a podcast, and more.

HOW IT WORKS

In one-on-one or group sessions I …

Build Confidence

I create an encouraging and warm environment so we can work together without pressure or fuss. It’s important to me that clients feel like they can be open and honest while we work together.

Spill Tea

I tell my clients everything they need to know from an insider’s perspective. As in, what interviewer’s want, why some people get a ton of coverage and others don’t, and what interviews are really about. (Spoiler alert: They’re about telling a good story.)

Teach Tools

Whether a client is rambling, nervous — even monosyllabic — I come up with personalized, innovative ways to overcome what’s holding them back so they can tell their story in an authentic way and present themselves in the best light.

Conduct an Interview

I interview clients exactly the way I do when I’m doing the real thing. I know what questions they’ll be asked, so we will prepare together, seek and find their message, and fine-tune delivery.

Build a Reputation

I help the client build a reputation as a good interview and a trusted source for future coverage, which leads to increased media opportunities overall.

Be an Ally

Some clients want to come back and do another session. Things change, after all. Whatever their next challenge, I’ll be there to help.

As a result of my coaching, clients leave with a big exhale and a smile that says, Okay, I can do this.
